BT PEST TERMINATE began in 2014 with a straightforward purpose: help people protect the places where they live, work and do business. From its grassroots beginnings, BT has grown its work across residential, commercial and project environments.
We believe pest management should be more than a quick treatment. It should start with understanding the concern, selecting a suitable approach, carrying out the work responsibly and explaining practical next steps to the customer.

Every business has a beginning. Ours started in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, in 2014, with a simple belief: good pest management should provide more than a treatment. It should provide solutions people can trust.
Over the years, BT PEST TERMINATE has developed through customer relationships, hands-on experience and a commitment to continuous improvement.

A contemporary portrait of BT's founder and co-founder. 01 2014 — THE BEGINNING
Built from a simple idea.
Mervin Liew founded BT PEST TERMINATE in Kota Kinabalu, together with co-founder Charlonitta Richard.
Our earliest work began with residential customers, going from house to house to understand their pest problems and provide practical solutions. With limited resources, we built the business through personal service, relationships and the trust earned from each completed assignment.
One customer, one job and one opportunity at a time, BT established its foundations.

National recognition for a young Sabah business.
Through SME Corp Malaysia's inaugural Tunas Usahawan Belia Bumiputera (TUBE 1.0) programme, BT PEST TERMINATE achieved the national champion distinction for the 2014/2015 programme cycle.
Co-founder Charlonitta Richard represented BT and received the award from Malaysia's then Prime Minister at the 2016 TUBE appreciation ceremony in Kuala Lumpur.
For a company that began with modest resources and residential customers in Kota Kinabalu, this achievement was an important early milestone. It encouraged us to continue building our capabilities, professionalism and customer relationships.

Practical field experience helped BT expand beyond its early residential work. 03 GROWING BEYOND RESIDENTIAL WORK
From homes to larger responsibilities.
As BT developed, our work gradually expanded from residential pest control into commercial properties, food businesses, warehouses, construction projects, government premises and institutional facilities.
Different sites brought different pest pressures, safety considerations, operating procedures and documentation needs. Each assignment gave us opportunities to improve our technical knowledge, planning and service delivery.
Growth has never been simply about taking on bigger jobs. It has been about becoming better prepared to serve them.

Learning, connecting and moving forward.
In October 2025, BT PEST TERMINATE welcomed representatives from Sabah's Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship for a company visit and engagement session.
The visit offered an opportunity to share our business journey and operations, exchange views and discuss the experiences of a locally established Sabah enterprise.
We value opportunities to learn, develop relationships and continue improving how we operate.

Progress is a continuous journey.
BT PEST TERMINATE participated in Anugerah Kecemerlangan Industri Sabah (AKIS) 2024/2025, reaching the Top 10 finalist stage and receiving a participation certificate. Founder Mervin Liew represented the company.
The experience encouraged us to reflect on our organisational capabilities, work practices and opportunities for improvement.
